- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆My husband and I have been searching for an adult dog to adopt that is * good with children * and saw on the shelters website there were two dogs that seemingly peaked our interest because their descriptions both read "good with children." We drove 45 minutes to the shelter only to be greeted by two women at the front desk who couldn't have been more miserable towards us. It was a Monday morning right at opening, so I can understand the unhappy demeaner, but when we asked them about the two dogs we were told they were NOT good with kids, they barely knew anything about either one, and whoever wrote they're description on the website "just wanted to get them adopted." We have a five year old son with severe autism and haven't had any bit of luck finding a trained, adult dog good with kids. So to drive that far, only to be told the write up was false and be given attitude, was extremely frustrating. The facility was incredible, especially in comparison to a place like MHHS (there wonderful people but the facility isn't great)... anyways, if you're interested in a specific dog, I would suggest calling first.... thumbs... down.By Christina Archambeault, January 11, 2017
- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆My dogs ended up chancing a deer into the woods. Ofcourse they got picked up and brought to shelter and I was fine with that. My dogs are microchip and no buddy bothered to check at the shelter. They were their for 12 hours before I was able to get them. The lady at the desk was not friendly. It's not like they did anything for my dogs but lock them in a cage. I hope I never have to go there again.By Heather Jones, January 01, 2017
